When President Donald Trump announced last week that he would be embarking on a 17-day working vacation, the mainstream media lost their minds. Reports and headlines spread like wildfire suggesting that the president couldn’t stand the White House and that golf was more important than leading our country.
What the anti-Trump media failed to make known is that the president departed on Friday to his New Jersey golf club so that the West Wing in the White House could undergo extensive renovations, including replacing a 27-year-old air conditioning unit.
It isn’t just President Trump who was forced to leave the West Wing, either. All top administration officials who normally work in the West Wing were forced to move their work into the Old Executive Office building until the renovations are complete.
Some news reports suggested that Trump called the White House a “dump,” which he has vehemently denied.
Presumably assuming the mainstream media will not believe Trump, White House spokeswoman Lindsay Walters made it clear to reporters that the West Wing is undergoing renovations and that a brand new HVAC system is being installed.
“Our HVAC systems are 27 years old, but due to the 24/7, 365-day use a year, the estimated age of the system based off of usage is 81 years old,” Walters said.
